Perhaps one of the most romantic and symbolic flowers in the world, forget-me-nots, tragically, have all but been forgotten and cast aside in favor of another floral token of affection -- the red rose.
However, we believe it's time to cast those commonplace roses aside and revisit the medieval legend that caused us to fall in love with these demure flowers to begin with.
According to legend, a French knight was strolling along a river bank with his lady, when he noticed some beautiful blue flowers growing just along the river's edge. As he bent down to pick a perfect bloom for his betrothed, the weight of his armor caused him to lose his footing and fall into the rushing river. Before sinking and being swept away forever, the knight tossed the flower to his lady and shouted, "ne m'oublie pas!" (forget me not) and it is said that is how the flower got its name.
In traditional floriography, forget-me-nots symbolize true, undying love and devotion as well as remembrance.
One look at these unforgettable earrings and it is hard not to fall in love!
Handcrafted in brilliant 14k yellow gold, these petite blooms are comprised of five beautiful robins egg blue Persian turquoise cabochons petals with a contrasting pearl centerpiece. They fasten with back-to-front lever closures.
We love these earrings because they are simple, chic and modern enough to be worn every day, even though they are more than 130 years old! We also love the symbolism behind them -- whether you buy them for your significant other or for yourself, it's always good to have a reminder that you are loved.

Date: 1890s
Materials: 14k gold, Persian turquoise, pearls
Measurements: 5/8" x 1/4"
Markings: None
Condition: Very Good
Earring have very light surface scratches consistent with age and use. One earring has a slightly smaller pearl than the other, which most likely means that one of the pearl has been replaced at some point. Personally, we don't mind it since no two flowers are ever the same.
Cleaning and Care
Pearls and turquoise are very porous. Do not submerge them into any sort of harsh chemicals as it will ruin them. Clean gently with warm soap and water and a soft bristled brush. Dry thoroughly. Lightly polish with a jewelry polishing cloth, if needed.
