“Do not let the past disturb you, just leave everything in the Sacred Heart and begin again with joy.”
-- St. Teresa of Calcutta
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is perhaps the most regarded and well known Catholic devotion. Representing Jesus' physical heart, it is often depicted wrapped in a crown of thorns and is viewed as a symbol of "God's boundless and passionate love for mankind."
Frequently pictured together is the equally powerful Immaculate Heart of Mary. Usually adorned with flowers and pierced by a sword, the Immaculate Heart of Mary is seen as a symbol of faith and compassion.
Whether you practice the faith or just love religious iconography, seeing these two hearts together always makes for a compelling piece.
This wonderful work of art is hand painted on board and features the sacred and immaculate hearts together in the center with the words, "Sacred hearts of Jesus & Mary, Bless Our Dear Home" surrounding them in beautiful decorative lettering.
This piece was framed by Sweeney's Art and Stationary Store in Naugatuk, Conn.
