Throughout history, amethyst was thought to have many different attributes -- all of them good -- including controlling evil thoughts, strengthen intelligence, protect from contagious diseases, encourage calm, bravery and contemplation and to bring forth the highest and purest aspirations of human kind.

Faint surface scratches to the gold consistent with age and wear. Amethyst are in surprisingly great condition. No major scratches or abrasions to note. Two of the pearls look like they may have been replaced.
Cleaning and Care
Clean gently with warm soap and water and a soft bristled brush. Do not immerse pearls in any type of cleaning solution. It will ruin them. Lightly polish with a jewelry polishing cloth, if desired.
