These crimson hued beauties hail from the region of Bohemia (which later became Czechoslovakia), and were all the rage in the Victorian era through the turn of the century.
Clustered together in pave settings to avoid seeing any traces of metal, Bohemian garnets were often rose cut to add varying tones and rich dimension as well as to make them sparkle in any lighting situation.
This showstopping necklace is so choc full of sparkle, it was nearly impossible to photograph! Believe us when we say the photos do not do it justice!
This stunning piece is encrusted with hundreds of rose cut Bohemian garnets in varying sizes and is composed of a chain of cruciform links. The dramatic centerpiece of swags and floral dangles is guaranteed to turn heads! The garnet encrusted floral clasp detailing shows just how much thought and care went into creating this piece.
Necklace is set in jeweler's brass, which is also referred to as garnet gold because of its popular use in Bohemian garnet jewelry of the era.

There are a few minor chips and dings to two of the stones, which is not uncommon with garnet jewelry of this age. We do not consider them flaws but part of their charm. One garnet in one of the cruciform links toward the clasp has been filled with glue underneath it even though the prongs are firmly holding the stone in place. It is not noticeable when worn, but we like to divulge any flaws/alterations that we notice.
Cleaning and Care
Clean gently with warm soap and water and a soft bristled brush. Lightly polish with a jewelry polishing cloth, if needed.
