Oh sweet Miss C. Fraley! We may never know who you were, but with this lovely footstone we will always remember your name.
Used in conjunction with the more detailed headstone, footstones are placed at the opposite end of a burial plot to serve as a boundary line. They are traditionally made of a more durable granite and are of simple design -- often only featuring the deceased's name or initials as to not detract from the headstone.
This sweet memorial is made of granite and has the name Miss. C. Fraley carved into it between two leaves.
Sadly, we do not know where this piece came from. Oftentimes, these pieces come on the market after they have been replaced with a newer marker.
