Often considered the most romantic jewel of all time, toi et moi rings have a rich, amorous history dating back centuries.
French for "you and me," these beautiful rings feature two gemstones, often identical in size, positioned side by side or close to each other to symbolize two souls becoming one or the twinning of two hearts.
A popular style of engagement ring in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the toi et moi ring was first propelled into the spotlight in 1796 when French revolutionary soldier Napoleon Bonaparte proposed to Joséphine de Beauharnais, a union Napoleon's family were fiercely against.
This striking ring is a little different from our traditional toi et moi pieces because we believe this one started out as a different kind of ring: earrings!
Handcrafted in silver and encrusted with 22 dazzling collet set old mine diamonds, the centerpiece of this ring predates the shank by almost 100 years!
Hailing from the early 1800s, these exquisite little flowers were most likely pillaged from a pair of earrings and transformed in the early 20th century into this lovely 14k engagement ring for a very special someone!
Each diamond is cut by hand giving them a distinctive warmth and added romance.
However, you don't have to be popping the question to give your betrothed a toi et moi ring. It can also be presented as an anniversary gift, a promise ring or simply as a token of affection.

No flaws to note. However, it looks like someone added some glue to the back of the collet setting at some point. Does not impede the sparkle of the stones.
