There's nothing we love more than an antique statement necklace, and this little stunner has all the bells and whistles that make us swoon!
Even though this gold-filled dream is more than 140 years old, it looks surprisingly modern with its woven wire chain.
The 3-dimensional pendant has some lovely archeological revival details, as well as inky black enamel work, the tiniest seed pearl accent and tassel fringe for added movement. It also has a pin back for additional security.
Necklace has a tongue and groove catch that fastens into the pendant itself.
This particular piece was made by Henry Frances Barrows, a renowned Attleboro, MA jeweler associated with fine jewelry.

Chain has a few tiny spots of patina. Pendant is missing a little enamel. The hinge on the pin back has been replaced or the whole pin back may have been added at a later date. Still an extraordinary piece.
Cleaning and Care
Clean gently with warm soap and water and a soft bristled brush. Do not immerse pearls in any type of cleaning solution. It will ruin them. Lightly polish with a jewelry polishing cloth, if desired.
