We can honestly say this is one of the most unusual mourning necklace settings we have ever come across. It almost gives a crying eye vibe. It's just incredible!
Hand crafted in 10k gold, this extraordinary piece features a mix of collet set amethyst and paste stones in varying shades of purple. Amethyst is believed to harness the power of grief-healing. It is believed to help the wearer find inner peace during dark and difficult times.
The beautiful pearl encrusted centerpiece most likely held the hair of a loved one at some point, but unfortunately is long lost. Our only clue is the engraving on the back that reads, "J.M.M. July 18, 1843."
Necklace comes on a new gold filled chain.

Stones and glass have light scratches consistent with age and wear. One of the purple paste pieces has a small chip on the edge. It looks like the side casing around the glass may have been cut to remove the hair or it could be a seam that is not as closed as it could be. The back has superficial dents.
Cleaning and Care
Pearls are very porous. Do not submerge them into any sort of harsh chemicals as it will ruin them. Clean gently with warm soap and water and a soft bristled brush. Dry thoroughly. Lightly polish with a jewelry polishing cloth, if needed.
