1928 Dermay Inc Rapunzel Uranium Satin Glass Powder Jar

Stunning green satin glass powder jar made by Dermay Inc. in 1928.  Dermay opened in 1924 in New York City specializing in perfumes, bath salts, creams, toilet water and more.  The Taussaunt Glass Co manufactured the glass that Dermay then filled with their bath products.  This particular jar is referred to as "Rapunzel" and would have originally contained powder.  Once the powders were used up the containers were often used as trinket dishes.  Under black light this jar has a lovely glow due to the trace amount of uranium added to the glass before the molding process.
