1930s Franz Bergmann Style "Drunk Woman" Erotic Bronze

Regular price $575.00

Often mistaken for a sculptor, Franz Xavier Bergmann was actually the founder of the most famous bronze foundry in Vienna.

Known for its detailed and colorful work, Bergmann's foundry also gained some notoriety for its more risque, erotic pieces often depicting Art Nouveau ladies in sensuous poses with removable articles of clothing.

And that is exactly what we have here!

This lovely bronze piece is titled, "Drunk Woman," and features a beautiful Gibson girl enjoying a libation in her gown while reclining in a chair. But after one Gin Fizz too many, our cheeky lady loses her dress to reveal she forgot to put on her underpinnings!

Though this piece was most likely produced in Vienna, it is unfortunately a replica of Bergmann's famous drinking dame. Thankfully the naughty frivolity still conveys.
