Hand motifs are seen in abundance in Victorian jewelry and housewares. A hand holding a cornucopia would symbolize abundance and good fortune. Cornucopia (cornu copiae) translated from latin means "horn of plenty."
This hand vase is made of a milky white glass with contrasting pink adorning the scalloped top. There is a hand painted dotted floral design decorating the front. Likely dating to the 1880s or 1890s, this vase was created using a blow mold leaving a rough pontil mark at the bottom.
