Snake themed jewelry has been slithering its way into our hearts for thousands of years.
Representing everything from loyalty and love to rebirth, transformations, sexuality and desire, these sacred serpents have been idolized across cultures and time.
However, it wasn't until 1839, when Queen Victoria was engaged to Prince Albert, that the snake was catapulted into the mainstream to became the most iconic motif in jewelry.
The Queen's golden serpent engagement ring set a trend throughout Europe and soon snake-themed jewelry was at the forefront of fashion -- and it continued its reign throughout the following Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods and even today!
This jaw dropping French metal mesh serpentine arm band is hand crafted in highly detailed 800 silver with 10k rose gold accents and ruby glass eyes. It's giving major Cleopatra vibes right down to its little forked tongue peeking out!
It has enough flexibility that it could be worn in a variety of ways and it is sturdy enough to be your new favorite everyday accessory!
This piece was also mentioned in the book, "Serpentina: Snake Jewellery From Around the World" by Fritz Falk.

Measurements: Total length 28", body width 5/16", head 2" x 1/2"

Condition: Good
Due to the thin nature of the metal mesh and the fact that it has been continuously wrapped and unwrapped around the original owner's arm, the metal mesh does have a number of kinks and bend as to be expected. There is one small tear in the mesh on the underside just under the head. It does not affect the integrity of the piece. While we did thoroughly clean this piece (and it NEEDED it!) we did chose to leave just a touch of patina.
Cleaning and Care
Clean gently with warm soap and water and a soft bristled brush. Lightly polish with a jewelry polishing cloth, if needed. Be sure to let it dry thoroughly.
