A delicate meerschaum (a white claylike material) relic depicting the blessed Virgin Mary cradling the mortal body of Jesus following his crucifixion, also known as the Pietà.
Hand carved with incredible detail and high relief, the carving almost looks soft to the touch. Framed in a black ebonized wood oval frame with its original hand-blown convex glass and backed with brown paper.
