This strange little creature is unlike anything we've ever seen.
He was sold to us as a snake, but we think he more closely resembles a stylized millipede. Given the fondness of arthropods in the Art Nouveau period, the inspiration behind this piece is anyone's guess. Whether it's a millipede or a snake, it's still one amazing brooch!
Beautifully crafted, this unique brooch features a fluid, articulated millipede with foil back paste eyes coiled around a simple rolled gold bar.
The millipede is soldered to the bar in a couple of spots to maintain its shape, however, the rest of the piece does have some slinky movement when touched.
Brooch has a riveted hinge and a C clasp and looks lovely worn vertically or horizontally.
