The giving of sunflowers in the Victorian era was considered a gesture of gratitude and thought to bring the recipient good luck.
We think the luckiest person is going to be the one who takes this beauty home!
Designed and sold by the Meriden, CT based W. & S. Blackinton Company, this oversized locket features two repoussé sunflowers adorned with sparkling smoky gray paste center detailing.
The back is monogrammed with the initials MMS.
Locket comes on its original chain.

Locket has light surface scratches consistent with age and use. Some of the gold plating is starting to wear off on some of the sunflower petals, but because of all of the detailing in the flowers, it is not overly noticeable. The front edge near the hinge is turned up ever so slightly, most likely from someone playing with the piece and opening it too far. Hinge has a slight wobble, but it is sturdy and closes securely. Chain has two tarnished links.
