We like to specialize in unusual jewelry, but this piece is a real head scratcher.
Is it carnelian or is it glass? Is it true Neapolitan craftsmanship or just an homage? The answer to both is the latter.
Inspired by a late 19th century Torre de Greco coral bracelet of similar design, this captivating piece features an Art Nouveau stylized pressed glass cameo centerpiece of Bacchus Dionysus, the god of wine, fertility, festivity, ritual madness and religious ecstasy.
Flanked on either side of "The Liberator" are his beloved panthers to further emphasize his carefree and wild nature.
Each glass piece is beautifully mounted and attached with intricately knotted and swirled sterling silver, further adding the overall Art Nouveau design.
Clasp is hidden behind Bacchus's head.
