There is a flower
Within my heart,
Planted one day
By a glancing dart,
Planted by Daisy Bell!
Whether she loves me
Or loves me not,
Sometimes it's hard to tell;
Yet I am longing to share the lot -
Of beautiful Daisy Bell!
Once a popular name in the Victorian era, nowadays the name Daisy seems more commonplace among our beloved pets. But whether Daisy is your name or the name of your favorite companion, this sweet sentimental brooch is sure to put a smile on your face.
Handcrafted in Birmingham silver, this beautiful piece features raised hand-cut letters that read "Daisy" surrounded by simple etched accents and beaded edge detailing.
The back of this brooch is choc full of all of those delicious hallmarks that one likes to see, including the Birmingham anchor, a date stamp for 1893 and a maker's mark that sadly was cutoff in the crafting process.
Materials: Birmingham sterling silver
Measurements: 1 3/4" x 5/8"
Markings: Standard lion mark, Birmingham anchor city mark, t date mark, and maker's mark
Condition: Very Good
Brooch has very faint surface scratches consistent with age and use. There are some rough looking spots inside some of the letters from the when the piece was created. Mostly in the areas where it was too small to smooth out. It is not overly noticeable and doesn't detract from the name. There also is one small dent on the right corner of the piece that we believe also may have happened when the brooch was made as it perfectly lines up with the placement of the C-clasp on the back.
