Simple and chic with rich hues and classic elegance, it's easy to see why garnets and pearls were such a popular pairing during the Victorian era.

It truly is hard not to fall in love with this stunning ring! Whether you keep it for yourself or give it to your betrothed, we guarantee this is one piece that will always be kept close to the heart!

This exquisite ring is set in 10k yellow gold and features a beautiful marquise cut garnet doublet centerpiece surrounded by seed pearls. This particular ring shape is often referred to as a navette ring, as "navette" is French for "little boat."

Widely used in antique jewelry, doublets are a type of assembled gem designed to imitate other, more expensive or fragile gems. This particular doublet is a garnet and glass doublet, which is made by fusing a clear garnet on top of ruby red glass.

Garnet and glass doublets were first used in the 1850s when it was noted that molten glass would adhere to garnet. It was a popular imitation for all types of colorful gems because the color of the glass was the only color that could be seen. Garnet and glass doublets were still being utilized in the early 1900s until actual synthetic gems were invented.
