Handcrafted in vibrant 14k solid gold, this dainty book has quite a lot of heft!
Each side is intricately detailed and accented with inky black enamel work. The front cover features a scroll just begging for your initials to be engraved. The back cover has a sweet little flower basket, a popular jewelry motif in the 19th century.
While many people equate black enamel work with mourning jewelry, that is not always the case. Black enamel also was used in everyday Victorian jewelry pieces, such as this locket, to accent the design and to give it that goth edge that we all love.
With a pop of the latch, the book opens to reveal not one, not two, but four little empty frames waiting for pictures, hair, tiny notes or whatever your heart desires. The frames do not have glass or any protective covering.

Latch closes securely and hinges are in perfect working order. There is the tiniest bit of enamel loss on the back edge. It is only noticeable under magnification.
Cleaning and Care
Gently wipe with a damp cloth. Take extra care not to chip or damage the enamel. Interior can be polished with a polishing cloth.
