As we all face trials, tribulations and personal struggles in our lives -- sometimes almost daily -- it's nice to feel as though strength, courage and perseverance are on our side.
For our Victorian era ancestors, wearing Roman empire themed jewelry was just the talisman they needed to feel ready to conquer the day. Regarded as a symbol of courage, victory, honor and sacrifice, Roman soldier jewelry was particularly popular among men and was often worn in the form of a watch fob.
This unassuming pendant is fashioned in 14k yellow gold and features an intaglio of the head of a Roman solider in carnelian colored glass. There is a spear coming out of the neck area of the pendant, which I'm sure is just a bad design choice, but could be interpreted in a whole other way depending on your opinion of the Roman empire. We'll leave that up to you!
This pendant started its life as an earring, but sadly its mate was long lost, so we had this piece converted into a pendant to give it a second chance at life.
Pendant comes on a new 10k gold chain.
